Get to know BSP’s Permanent Programs
Every month, you find the following activities at the Biblioteca de São Paulo (BSP – Library of São Paulo):
Hora do Conto (Story Time) – reading mediation, dramatization and children and youth literature storytelling to encourage reading and the creative development of children.
Fridays at 3 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays, at 4 p.m.
Pintando o 7 (Painting the Town Red) – fine arts activities focusing both the artistic and intellectual development of the participants.
Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Bebelê – initiation and stimulation program of cognitive potencies of children between 6 months and 3 years, by means of playful experiences via books.
Saturdays at 3 p.m.
Jogos Sensoriais (Sensorial games) – fun and games that stimulate sensorial abilities and memories for people with and without deficiencies.
Two Tuesdays per month at 3 p.m.
Brincando e Aprendendo (Playing and Learning) – activity that combines interventions, theatrical games, rhythms and educational fun.
Wednesdays at 3 p.m.
Leitura e Letras em Harmonia (Reading and Letters in Harmony) – the program presents youth with themes related to music, literature and poetry, apart from offering space for musical performances.
Thursdays at noon.
Clube de Leitura (Reading Club) – readers of a same work gathering once a month to exchange opinions and criticism, thus encouraging reading habits.
One Wednesday a month at 3:30 p.m.
Leitura ao Pé do Ouvido (Whispered Reading) – intimate reading mediation carried out in the Library installations, with the goal of suggesting authors, books and themes to the public.
Fridays at 4:30 p.m.
Tabuleiro de Jogos (Board games) – chess for beginners and people with visual deficiency (adapted boards).
Saturdays at 11 a.m.
Leitura do Cotidiano (Everyday reading) – by reading fragments of literary and journalistic texts, song lyrics and poems, this activity aims to debate everyday themes.
Fridays at 3:30 p.m.
Entre textos: ler, criar e interpretar (Amongst texts: read, create and perform) – collective literary construction program in which participants are mobilized to explore textual structure and hence become a critical reader.
Thursdays at 3:30 p.m.
Segundas Intenções (Second Thoughts)– monthly chat with guest writer.
Third Saturday of each month at 11 a.m.
Sarau da BSP (BSP Soiree) – space dedicated to presentation of texts, poetry and music.
